Hey, I’m Jillian.

Your Introvert-Friendly Instagram Strategist for Authors, Editors, and Coaches

a mac laptop sits open on a table with a cup of black coffee next to it.

My job revolves around two things: reading books and making friends on the internet

Or, to put it another way, I create custom content strategies that help bookish people like you – indie & mainstream authors, book editors, and book coaches – build engaged audiences on Instagram.

But my approach to Instagram isn’t about amassing a following of casual scrollers – it’s about giving you the easy-to-follow plans you need to cultivate a community full of real people like…

I’m here to help you build an audience of people that feel like more than just numbers – because they are.

  • The readers

who will happily like, comment on, and share your content with their bookstagram besties

(which tells the algorithm, “This is good! We should show it to more people!”)

  • The Clients

who came straight from your vision board –
and can’t wait to sign on with an editor or coach who gets them like you do – finally!

  • The Book Buyers

who will excitedly count down the days to your book’s release date, devour it within a few hours, then proudly display it on their shelf while they look forward to your next release

I worked with Jillian on a launch on instagram. I was hopeful that she could come up with a plan for my reels so that I could just drop in and record and edit them based on her suggested ideas. She came up with such wonderful ideas and saved me so much time and energy. Not to mention, they performed well and helped me reach my launch goals! Jillian is my go-to person when it comes to instagram strategy and anyone would be lucky to have her in their corner!!

If you’re an author, editor, or coach who has ever thought…

“Ok, so, whether I sign with a publisher or go the indie route, I know I’m going to have to grow my Instagram following if I’m going to sell enough books…”

OR

“Ok, so, the editing, coaching, or ghostwriting clients of my dreams are somewhere out there in Instagram land. I know that I need to show them what I’m all about…”

“But… how am I supposed to “show up” and “engage” or “share my work” on a visual platform like Instagram – especially when my work is mostly words

AND THEN

Do people really want to see me in my sweatpants and messy bun, sitting in front of my laptop, going back and forth between furiously typing and face-palming?

Am I going to have to record b-roll of me editing a client’s book proposal? Commission some thirst-trap art of my MMC? Or worse – make a reel while I lip-synch to a trending audio?

I just want to get lost in that new enemies-to-lovers manuscript – not have to try to carve out a second career as a content creator.”

…then I’m so glad you found your
way here!

Since we’re already on the same page (pun intended) with our love of all things books, what do you say we give the “being friends on the internet” part a try?

Here’s what you should know about me:

The most important part of working together? Trust. I get it – your book or your business feels like your baby, and it can be scary to hand your baby’s future – aka your Instagram strategy – over to a stranger.

But here’s what I can promise: you’ll be putting your baby into the hands of someone who loves and knows books, reading, and the industry just as much as you do.

I care about people, their rights, and their wellbeing, and working with folks who also care about people, their rights, and their wellbeing is simply non-negotiable for me.

I’ll take my coffee any way I can get it, but I prefer iced coffee to hot coffee (yes, even when it’s 19°F in my home city of Buffalo, New York – Go Bills!)

The book that changed my relationship with reading was A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. It’s the first book that ever made me feel something deeply enough to make me cry.

If my local library had a frequent visitor lounge, I’d qualify as a platinum member. I love the library – my two kids and I are there at least once a week during the school year and twice a week during the summer.

My ideal Friday night involves ordering pizza (cheese and pepperoni, thank you), curling up on the couch with a book, and reading straight through until bedtime – all while my family reads or plays on their tablets nearby.

The author I’ll never miss a release from is TJ Klune. Under The Whispering Door is my favorite book of all time, and I just get so excited when I hear that he’s coming out with something new.
