The idea to create a self-named blog, came about a year ago. Weird that I am just stepping into it now, right?
It wasn’t necessarily that I was sitting on it, but I wasn’t sure where to start. I will admit that as soon as I had decided to start a self-named blog (while working with my coach), I went out and bought my domain almost immediately. I didn’t want to lose out on that chance… but, it was many more months before the site actually came to fruition.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted anything to look like. My husband was going to be the one creating my blog header, and I’d given him no ideas on what I actually wanted, so everything just kind of sat in limbo. Months went by, when finally I decided to get off my rump and create a board on Pinterest that would showcase what I wanted created. What I liked and the colors I was drawn to. Seamus took this and created what you see today at the top of my blog. It’s still a work in progress, I think I’d like to move to a handwritten script font, but it works perfectly for now.
However, creating a header is just barely the tip of the iceberg. That header, and this blog went live on 8/29/15 – but as you can see I didn’t begin writing until 11/12/15. So, for two and a half more months, this just sat there. I knew I wanted to start writing, but I let the resistance win and kept putting it off and putting it off. It was frustrating, but I was the only one at fault.
Yesterday, I had a post I wrote go live on a very popular blog, Blogelina.com – with that I decided I needed to FINALLY stop allowing the resistance to win and get my butt in gear. I started working behind the scenes (last weekend), to get the site more functional and began writing yesterday. Now, I have a goal of writing daily – that’s not to say I’ll be publishing content daily, but I want to actually sit down and write, each and everyday. I even have a HUGE yearly calendar that I’ll be using to track my streaks.

As you suggest income sources for moms, I hope you’ll encourage people with musical talent to offer their services to long-term care facilities. Residents deserve to have high-quality music programs, and this is a great way to pick up some extra money. Depending on the ages of your kids, the residents enjoy when you bring them along, too!
I definitely believe in the power of music! My cousin is a musical therapist and has done great things for people. Thanks for visiting and commenting! <3
